Professional Therapeutic & Coaching Practice of Ashley French
MSW, Supervisee in Social Work, MLS, & ICF-Certified CDC, CLC, CHC Coach

Hi, I'm Ashley, and I provide support to people at transitional points of their life.
I’m here to help you take on any obstacle you are facing. Whether a roadblock or a transition period, I believe that difficult moments can be a launching point into a better phase of our lives and ourselves. We have to harness our best parts… and work with our vulnerabilities. But doing this work to capture our true potential can feel almost impossible to do alone, which is where I come in. I see my role as actively helping you to set goals and take action. I’m here to be a partner and champion to my clients as they take on life, and look forward to working with you in the same way.

Opportunities for Us to Work Together
I am continuing to provide one-on-one divorce coaching sessions as I turn my focus towards providing therapy services through my practice in Northern Virginia, working mostly with couples, co-parents, families, and individuals who are dealing with the effects of high-conflict divorce or engaged in the family legal system for divorce, custody, support, domestic disputes, mediation, collaborative divorce, or court order enforcement.
Divorce Therapy & Coaching
I specialize in helping individuals navigate and overcome the difficulties of divorce. I will help you prioritize the steps you need to take in the formal divorce process and create an action plan to start shaping the next phase of your life. The end of this chapter may be difficult but the next one has so many things to offer. I will help you gain closure, explore future opportunities, and find new success - all while standing on your own two feet. In addition to my integrative therapy practice and divorce coaching experience, I have a legal background that helps me understand the court and settlement processes. I work with many aspects of divorce, including: family planning, high-conflict divorce resolution, divorce meeting prep sessions and organization, collaborative divorce, and working with survivors of domestic violence - including physical, sexual, psychological, verbal, sexual,
emotional and mental abuse.
Couples & Family Therapy
I facilitate a safe and honest space for couples and families to better understand each other, improve their communication patterns, and strengthen the boundaries and bonds that improve their dynamics.

For couples, using the basic principles of Emotionally Focused Therapy, I help partners identify the most important parts of themselves and work on how those parts show up in the relationship and how they need to ask for the right type of love and support from their partner.
My work with families focuses on my particular interest in helping families restructure their dynamic after separation or divorce. I help families work through the specific challenges and emotional exhaustion that the divorce process brings, so each family member can move forward feeling whole and healed as individuals within their new family unit.
Parenting Coordination
I have undergone specific training to help ex-partners re-create their relationship into a co-parenting partnership that prioritizes the best interests of the children. It is hard to avoid bringing past hurt and experiences with each other into the co-parenting relationship, but we will work together to help you communicate in new ways, and come to agreements and compromises that help you avoid ongoing litigation and allow you to release the pressure of constant contention. Using structured sessions, I guide co-parents through communication concerns, implementing parenting plans, and decision making. I include integrative therapy and coaching techniques to help
co-parents learn and use better communication skills, determine when and how to collaborate, and create sustainable patterns that can help co-parents avoid and disengage from further conflict, allowing the co-parenting relationship to improve year over year as your child grows up.
